AC Ballet Kicks Off Spring Season With A Shakespearean Favorite And Ends With A World Premiere

Atlantic City, NJ (March 11, 2019) - The Atlantic City Ballet.
The Atlantic City Ballet kicks off their spring season with two audience favorites, Romeo and Juliet and Sleeping Beauty and ends their 36th year with the World Premier of Cinderella. After flying to the west coast for a quick California tour, the company returns to Atlantic City to begin their spring performance season. Two of these ballets, Romeo & Juliet and Sleeping Beauty are part of the company’s repertoire. A brand new ballet, Cinderella will have its world premiere at the Circus Maximus in Atlantic City and then head to Monroe Township for a second performance. Having a world premiere at the end of the season has become a tradition with the company and one that many patrons look forward to. “I love to end our season with a brand new ballet” remarks Ms. Papa, Founding Artistic Director. ”It’s something the dancers and the audience looks forward to

The seamless choreography in Phyllis Papa’s Romeo and Juliet vibrantly depicts the story’s passion capturing the intense desire of the star-crossed lovers and the ceaseless feud between two family clans in beautiful Verona. Set to Sergei Prokofiev’s thrilling orchestral score, this dramatic ballet stays loyal to Shakespeare’s original tragic ending.
The tale of Sleeping Beauty comes to life in the most majestic classical ballet of all time. Set to Tchaikovsky's fabulous and familiar score and combined with Artistic Director, Phyllis Papa’s stunning choreography, Sleeping Beauty is a timeless classic you can enjoy with the entire family. Atlantic City Ballet’s, Sleeping Beauty will create a memory to cherish happily ever after.
AC Ballet’s Cinderella will vividly delight audiences with the beauty and majesty of classical ballet, wrapped in the promise of “happily ever after,” and generously sprinkled with a wonderful dose of humor. Complete with a fairy Godmother, a handsome prince and an unforgettable ball, the magnificent staging, music and costumes make this production a delight for all ages.
